Gossip Girl
Mischa Barton might guest start on Gossip Girl. Bummer! I was never a huge fan of her on the OC and it would be very disappointing if she started tainting GG too! Seriously, bring back Summer instead!

Millionaire Matchmaker
cc2 and I are totally addicted to The Millionaire Matchmaker. The main matchmaker woman seems kind of crazy and a bit strident, but the show has grown on us and we're now watching all the episodes. The guys are definitely usually pretty nice and it's kind of cute to see if they will make a connection with various girls.

Unhitched
Here's a decent review of Fox's new show Unhitched, which stars Rashida Jones (Karen from the Office. And the main reason I'm posting about this is that it seems like it would be a good show for the tomcat and his friend the LCD (Lowest Common Denominator, which is a nickname stolen from totor's friend eg), who love this kind of crap. This will give them something to watch while they are waiting for the Loop to come back (or did it cancelled? Who can remember?)

Life imitates the Wire
In a bizarre case of life imitating art, Philadelphia is currently running a series on homelessness in its paper after the gruesome death of a homeless man, which mirrors the storyline on the Wire and the paper is currently run by David Simon's old boss and nemesis, who inspired the evil editor on the Wire.

FroYo
Wow, this is a long article about the Pinkberry/Red Mango/other competitors yogurt war that has now moved to NYC. The upside is that this gives me more names of yogurt chains that I can search to see if they are near me. Mmm, frozen yogurt. Hopefully they all have catchy songs like P-I-N, K-B-E, R-R-Y, Pinkberry!

ABC shows on demand
ABC will start streaming content on demand through cable boxes, but will not allow users to fast forward through five minutes of ads at the beginning. But as the TV guide article points out, it's way better than the usual 17 minutes of ads for an hour long show. I think the shows are being piloted through Cox Cable company; CBS and NBC already have similar deals with Comcast.

'Miss/Guided'
I'm excited that Judy Greer is finally getting her own show, Miss/Guided, which will have a sneak peek after Dancing with the Stars on March 18. After really enjoying her in Arrested Development, Love Monkey and as the best friend in so many romantic comedy movies (the Wedding Planner!), it's good that she's getting her own vehicle. The premise of the show is that she was an ugly duckling and has returned to her high school to be guidance counselor. There's a trailer of the show on the ABC website.
The futon critic's review was largely positive, but the trailer is certainly a bit of a train wreck. I'm not really sure what to think, but I guess I'll have to watch a few episodes since I like Judy Greer so much.

So many housewares!
cc sent me a great link of a post in the Martha Stewart blog of the room where they store the props used to style all their rooms and photo shoots. There are billions of vases, dishes, cake stands, silver pitchers, etc. It's pretty impressive!

Thom Filicia Family Room Makeover Contest 2008
You can enter a contest to have Thom Filicia makeover your family room. I just love him and his decorating so this would be so fun!

Dress My Nest
I think video always makes blog posts more fun, and since I have a hulu account, I figured I'd try to do that more in the blog. We'll see how it works.
Anyway, I've always loved Thom Filicia from Queer Eye, and I was really sad that I don't get the Style Network since I can't watch his reality show, but at least there are some clips on hulu that gives a flavor of the show. Sadly, it just makes me wish that I had Style Network even more...

I want more Pacey!
Curses, the writer's strike put the kibosh on Pacey going to Grey's Anatomy, since Joshua Jackson now has a regular job on the new JJ Abrams piot.

Free reading online
You can read all of Renegade's Magic: Book Three of The Soldier Son Trilogy by Robin Hobb online at the Harper Collins website. I was thoroughly addicted to an earlier nine book series she wrote, and I've read the first book in this series, but haven't gotten to reading the second book yet....

Julianne Hough songs
If you want to hear what Julianne Hough's songs will sound like, you can hear one song on her MySpace page which will be on the upcoming album as well as the single she released on iTunes a while ago. Catchy and fun, but not amazing...

Kristin Kruek gets cast & separate casting news on Twilight
The tomcat will be glad to hear that Kristin Kreuk has been cast in the newest live action remake of Street Fighter. Nice to know that she can get work other than the TV remake of Snow White. And the tomcat needed some cheering up now that Kirsten Dunst is in rehab.
In other news, the movie adaptation of the teen thriller with vampires, Twilight, is getting more people in the cast, including Peter Facinelli (Mr. Jennie Garth) and Elizabeth Reaser (Crush/Ava from Grey's).
The tomcat and I did a marathon of the Wire this weekend, watching the six eps from my tivo, then the episode on Sunday and then next week's episode from OnDemand yesterday. It was a crazy TV weekend for us. And sooo good! And apparently, I finally learned how to use OnDemand sort of. There's some fun stuff on HBO on demand that I have not been watching. I guess I better get to that in the next two weeks before I cancel my HBO subscription after the Wire is done.

New Dancing Stars!
Dancing’s new slate of celebrities is announced, and it includes some fun people like R&B sing Mario, Kristi Yamaguchi, Monica Seles, Shannon Elizabeth (the girl who bought a gas mask for her dog post-9/11), the girl who played the lead in Hairspray on Broadway (Marissa Jaret Winokur), Marlee Matlin, Priscilla Presley and Steve Guttenburg. Sadly, the pros won't be announced until tomorrow morning, so I'll just have to try to guess who Julianne will be paired with for now.

FNL?
(via tvtattle) There are rumors of an FNL TV movie to wrap up the series, as well as the potential of some other network to pick up the show, but judging by other shows that have jumped networks (Buffy, Roswell), I'm not sure I'd be that optimistic about how that would turn out.
And Donimic West is lobbying David Simon to make a Wire movie. This is actually a cool interview as well with West, although it has some spoilers if you're not caught up on the current season of the Wire. Which honestly, knowing my reader base, isn't many of you since you're NOT WATCHING IT, you dogs!

AdFreak: Verizon FiOS ad couldn't be more awesome
(via popcandy) Michael Bay stars in an "awesome" Verizon ad, that's pretty tongue in cheek and silly. Yes, there are things blowing up everywhere, and a tiger!

DWTS
Dancing with the Stars will announce some of the new contestants on the Dance Wars show, and a few more on one of the morning talk shows, but unfortunately the list of pros will not include Maksim Chmerkovskiy who is "taking some time off". Bummer.

Fancast
Apparently Fancast is a Comcast owned site that is like Facebook for TV/entertainment stuff. You can watch streaming video, connect to other sites, search tv listings and all sorts of stuff. It's your entertainment hub!

Oscar songs
Amy Adams will sing a song from Enchanted at the Oscars, and I'm embarrassed to say I'm quite excited to see that Kristin Chenowith will be singing the big Central Park duet from Enchanted at the ceremony as well.

Wildfire vacation
I totally forgot to blog about this earlier, but one of my friends from elementary/middle/high school, though a random set of circustances, is going on an African safari this summer with her family, and family friends. The granddaughter of one of the family friends is joining them on the trip and is none other than Genevieve Cortese, one of the stars of the ABC show Wildfire. Heh. Can you believe it? A safari with Wildfire! It's a C-list celebrity encounter dream come true.

Step Up 2 Dance Featurette
Apparently Totoro watched this Step Up 2 Dance Featurette and thought it looked awesome. But he forgot about the blog so didn't think to blog about it. So I guess I have to bring it you. Totoro thought that the story was crap, of course, but that the dancing looked really good. See for yourself!

Summer Gossip Girl?
It's possible that the CW will order some additional episodes of Gossip Girl beyond what can air this spring, and may air during the summer. Gossip Girl would certainly be a fun summer show! And better than Summerland!

Shows renewed
A number of shows have gotten picked up for second seasons, including (yay!) Dirty Sexy Money and Pushing Daisies. The bad news is that a number of the shows won't have new episodes until the fall. This chart indicates how many, if any, episodes are left of a show, as well as when it will come back.

Pacey, again!
Joshua Jackson will be in J.J. Abrams's new pilot Fringe as a "a high-school dropout/gambling addict with an IQ of 190." Glad to see they are keeping up the Pacey persona! Hopefully he'll also be very sweetly romantic... It's nice to see Joshua Jackson working again and I hope he'll also still end up in a guest stint on Grey's if the writer's ever start working again.

Arrested Development movie
Rumors/talk continue around an Arrested Development movie. It has been a while since I had heard anything so I was wondering if it was dead...
