Is it just me or would you be sort of hesitant when talking to the TiVo ambassador if he came up to you in a bar and started chatting you up? I'm sorry - he just looks kind of skeezy. But I'm sure he's a super nice guy.

Somewhat related to nyanko's post concerning Mandy Moore's upcoming album, here's a picture of Mandy in her latest movie American Dreamz, next to America's favorite contestant in the current season of American Idol, Katharine McPhee... the resemblance is striking.
I haven't seen the movie yet, but I can guess as to what kind of character Mandy plays. So... many... teeth...

totoro and I were chatting about how the blog is particularly lacking in images, which we both find to be rather sad and technologically backwards. The excuse is that I can't get the image uploading software to work (sigh, issues) and totoro is too lazy to blog. So, to compensate for that, dear reader, I have decided the solution is in fact... ASCII ART. Yes. So, I am going to provide you with art for our blog.
I love my tivo. (pictured below)

[Hmm, this could be harder than I thought]
I also love TV.

Look forward to more masterpieces that relate to the blog topics!

Cirque du Soleil's next show frightens the bejesus out of me. No, really. Click on the link. Of course, it's funnier in French. (via totally unauthorized)

Heh, Teddy Geiger (Wayne from Love Monkey) shows up at a Yahoo corporate event. Ah, the things you have to do when you're an up and coming musician. This must have been his only gig in the recent past where there were no screaming teenyboppers. But you have to figure that it must be pretty awkward to show up in the company courtyard and have people puzzling over who you are. I know that I would find it hilarious if my company ever tried to do something like this, but we're not that hip, so I don't think I have to worry about that scenario. Instead, I get to go to a dinner in May at the Computer History Museum. Rocking.

TiVo finally releases a dual analog tuner Tivo, but too late for me. Curses. Of course, my roommate now has a wireless adaptor for her TiVo, so we can share things between the two TiVos. Now I can watch both Veronica Mars and Scrubs, and the final gasp of Alias as well as the Amazing RAce.

Mandy is working on a new album! Sadly, I'm excited about this.

Boondock Saints
The Boondock Saints is quite an old movie now, and has been named by several individuals to be present upon their personal "favorite" lists. However, few have ever emphasized it as an "essential" (e.g. Zoolander) and so the urgency level was fairly low. I have rarely been in a movie watching mood of late, but for some reason last night I was inspired to finally get around to seeing this movie, and so I went to rent it with Saber Ninja (I really need more consistent blog names, maybe if I ever blogged I would).
Conclusions:
To all of you who haven't seen it before, go see it. Now.
To those of you who have, why didn't you ever tell me before how badly I needed to see this movie?
There's something for everyone in this movie, since I hear the women have some eye-candy to enjoy while the men will enjoy the general bad-assery and guns/humor. I am strangely comfortable with that.

Tivo deal... again.
For those who still don't have a Tivo, they are once again offering a free factory-refurbished 40-hour Series2 unit if you pre-pay for some service (in this case, 1 yr of service at $12.95 a month).
Talk to Nyanko about putting her down as a reference, she is the original source of all Tivoing. The deal is tempting enough to make me seriously consider it, although seeing as how the only thing I watch is Grey's Anatomy I really do need some superior content to seal the deal.

There will be a Lost interactive game, for those of you addicted to Lost. This may tide you over after finishing the Google Da Vinci code game. Heh. I'm talking to you, tomcat.

Shannen Doherty will be in a reality show where she gets hired out to get rid of boyfriends, bad friends, etc. Heh. This might be totally awesome.

Gilmore Girls will continue for another season, but creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and her husband Dan Palladino won't be working on the show. Huh. The best shows were always written by Amy, so this could be somewhat tragic for the show.

While at the Wynn Las Vegas, I figured out that whoever is doing the music for the casino is right in my wheelhouse. The proof: they played a remix of Kelly Clarkson's Breakaway (which was surprisingly challenging to track down). Maybe Wynn Las Vegas will do a CD series!

On some recent intercontinental flights, I was able to sample many of the recent theater releases which you were probably smart enough to avoid in the theater, but might be tempted to actually rent in either misguided interest or desperation. Let me enlighten you.
The Family Stone: Rachel McAdams wasn't enough to save this movie. Sarah Jessica Parker really is annoying. It was more quirky than heartwarming or romantic. And Rupert Everett was just not dreamy.
Rumor Has It: Jennifer Aniston plays her usual character, but indecisive and angst-ridden, as opposed to ditzy and flighty. Mark Ruffalo? I'm not sure what he was doing.
Nanny McPhee: Okay, I know this one doesn't really sound that appealing, but it had Colin Firth, which is one of my DVD Achilles heels. Anyhow, it was a terrible moppet movie, with lots of annoying children. At least the romantic interest was cute and sweet.
Overall: Run away. Quickly. Even if you are on a 10 hour flight, perhaps you should consider counting the pattern in the carpet.

I recently flew on Delta Song. The good news is that like jetBlue, they also have TVs in their seats, and even have a TV guide to help you navigate their TV service. However, the only major network they offer is NBC, so you'll probably still be sad if you're flying during prime time.
For the other multimedia amenities, they also allow you to create playlists from their music library. If you want to play games (like Bedazzled) you have to pay $5 per game. Which was a bummer, but probably protected me from another carpal tunnel bout, as well as forcing me to sleep on my red eye flight. My mom's new RAZR phone has a trial copy of Bedazzled on it, and apparently I could buy Bedazzled for my phone, but I'm not sure I would ever be able to talk to anyone again if I did that, because I would constantly be burning up my battery playing games.

A good review for the new JJ Abrams show What About Brian, which premieres this Sunday in Grey's Anatomy's time slot before moving to Monday nights.
