Here's a quick article about how cable show ratings compare with broadcast network show ratings. The big brouhaha this fall has been about how all the buzzed about shows were during the summer on cable and how the fall broadcast network season has been a big letdown, but despite this apparent creative letdown, far more people watch even the crappiest of the broadcast shows. The Ghost Whisperer beat out the highest rated cable premiere (The Closer) [2.4 vs. 2.2 million), and the CW's Girlfriends beats Monk.
